Med Impex International LLC Establishes Endoscopic Training Center in Collaboration with Ach Medical University

Med Impex International LLC, with the support of Olympus Corporation of Japan, has established and officially opened the Endoscopic Training Center in collaboration with Ach Medical University. The center is equipped with the latest OLYMPUS brand’s  EVIS X1 endoscopic equipment and other necessary equipment and aims to regularly organize specialized training courses for endoscopic surgeons.

The collaborating Ach Medical University was established in 1998 and is characterized by its structure that combines evidence-based medical education and clinical practice, and regarding  it’s affiliated hospital Ach International Hospital, it was established in 2022 and has the advantage of introducing modern diagnostic and therapeutic, surgical capabilities, and advanced equipment.

This Endoscopic Training Center was established through the support of the Japanese Olympus Corporation, the technological investment and financial support of Med Impex International LLC, the training base and extensive experience of Ach Medical University, and the passion and dedication of Mongolian endoscopic specialists to improve their professional skills.

Med Impex International LLC has been operating in the Mongolian medical equipment industry for 22 years and has served as the official distributor of the Japanese Olympus brand in Mongolia since 2005. Olympus Corporation is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of flexible and rigid endoscopes with a history of over 100 years.

The organizations have paid special attention to the training and professional development of endoscopic physicians within the framework of their collaboration, and to date, they have organized training and practical experience for more than 30 Mongolian doctors at university hospitals in Japan. Additionally, since 2008, Med Impex International LLC has regularly organized lectures and hands-on training sessions led by foreign and domestic professors for endoscopic physicians in collaboration with ANBIG (Asian Novel Bio-Imaging and Intervention group), the Japanese Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society, and the Mongolian Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society, making this a tradition. Each year, they introduce new technologies and disseminate information to physicians.

According to the results of early detection screening for the prevention of prevalent infectious and non-infectious diseases among the general population, which the Government of Mongolia began organizing in 2022, gastrointestinal diseases rank second in the overall disease structure. As of 2024, 1,549,479 people nationwide have been covered by preventive and early detection examinations, screening, and diagnosis, and 371 people with cancer were identified through early detection. Among these, stomach, liver, esophageal, and kidney cancers were predominant. Currently, approximately 250 endoscopic physicians are working nationwide, however, the shortage of endoscopic physicians and the inadequacy of equipment supplies for early detection of gastrointestinal cancers remain ongoing issues that need to be addressed.

Therefore, this training center represents a significant investment in improving the quality of modern diagnosis and treatment in the field, expanding research activities, and training advanced endoscopic physician specialists. Ultimately, this will make a valuable contribution to improving the quality of care and services provided to patients.

We are confident that this newly opened center will serve as an important driving force in the great endeavor of organizing continuous, high-quality training and practice in the coming years, perfecting endoscopic diagnosis, and introducing new advanced treatment methods.

Sincerely,
Otgontuya Tudev
